Papaya & Co. Studio — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 09/29/2026
Papaya & Co. Studio ("Studio," "we," "us") respects the privacy of everyone who visits papayastudio.ca (the "Site") or works with the Studio. This policy explains what information is collected, how it's used, and what choices are available.
1. Information Collected
Information provided directly, when filling out the Contact form or otherwise reaching out, the following may be collected:
-
Name
-
Email address
-
Business or company name
-
Details about a project or inquiry
Information collected automatically, like most websites, standard technical information is collected when the Site is visited, including:
-
IP address and general location (city/region level)
-
Browser type and device information
-
Pages visited and time spent on the Site
-
Referring website (how a visitor arrived at the Site)
This is collected through cookies and similar tracking technologies, standard practice for websites built on Wix and any connected analytics tools.
2. How Information Is Used
Information collected is used to:
-
Respond to inquiries submitted through the Contact form
-
Prepare and send proposals, contracts, and invoices for a project
-
Improve the Site's content and performance
-
Send occasional updates or marketing emails, only with explicit consent, and only to people who've opted in
Information is never sold to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services
The Studio uses trusted third-party platforms to run the business, and information may pass through these services as part of normal operations:
-
Wix — website hosting and site infrastructure
-
Bonsai — contact forms, contracts, invoicing, and payment processing
-
Wave — internal bookkeeping (this tool does not receive client-submitted information directly)
Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
4. Cookies
The Site uses cookies to support basic functionality and understand how visitors use the Site. Cookies can be controlled or disabled through browser settings; disabling them may affect how some parts of the Site function.
5. Email Communications
In line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), marketing or promotional emails are only sent to people who have given clear consent to receive them. Every marketing email includes a straightforward way to unsubscribe at any time. Transactional messages (like invoices or replies to a direct inquiry) are not affected by an unsubscribe request, since they're part of an existing business relationship, not marketing.
6. Data Retention
Information is kept only as long as needed to respond to an inquiry, complete a project, meet legal or tax record-keeping requirements (such as HST or income tax purposes), or as otherwise required by law.
7. Data Security
Reasonable steps are taken to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse, including relying on the security practices of the third-party platforms listed above. That said, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure, and this can't be guaranteed absolutely.
8. Rights & Requests
In line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), anyone whose information has been collected can request to:
-
Access the personal information held about them
-
Correct inaccurate information
-
Request deletion of their information, where the Studio isn't otherwise required to retain it (e.g., for tax records)
Requests can be sent to hello@papayastudio.ca.
9. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed at children, and personal information is not knowingly collected from anyone under the age of 13.
10. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in practices or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version.
